Hey, Its Independence Day!!

What a beautiful sunny day in Wisconsin to celebrate the fourth of July!!  Today started off like any other day, wake up.. feed the kids, make coffee, get dressed, clean up the house. So we did just that. Connor and Addison both enjoyed some bananas and french toast sticks for breakfast, while dh and I had our morning pot of coffee.

After breakfast, we got dressed and hurried out the door to attend the Waterford, WI 4th of July Parade. We go to this parade every year, just as I have for the past 24 years. I love this parade, and not only because its the parade in my home town, it just makes me feel good inside. It brings back memories, and to do anything different, just doesnt feel right.
So we met up with Krystal and her family, at her husbands aunt's house, who happens to live right on the main street where the parade happens. They cook out, have music (which was provided by MKE dj Productions.. Krystal's hubbys DJ biz) and we all line our chairs up on the road to watch the parade.
This year was special for my niece Briana (Krystals 12yo DD) whom was marching with the fox river middle school band and played the flute. My maternal grandfather also is in the parade every year along with many other war veterans. We were also joined by my sisters Karie and Katie and all their kids, as well as my parents. We all adorned our red, white and blue clothing, packed on the sunblock, and sat back and enjoyed the parade :) here are some pics!

After the parade, we went to my parents house for a cookout. We had shishkabobs, pasta salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, home made pickles and dilly beans, watermelon, chocolate covered fruits and browines! I had to leave mid-party because dh and I both had to work. But thankfully my parents kept the kids there to enjoy the party and watched them while my dh and I worked.
I ended up having a busy day at work, and now im tired and ready for bed!
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!!
